Challenges
In an organization, like so many others, where for years there are no investments in the IT area, we find scenarios where all platforms are fully functional but obsolete. Carlos Soto, head of the IT department, stands out.
The specific case is the mail management system. Mounted on a physical server that was 15 years old and a Microsoft Exchange 2000 mail platform.
Execution
The titanic task consisted of updating those platforms with more than 400 active accounts. With our consulting service, the migration was successfully carried out, also updating the domain controllers and other member servers, and the applications of the user’s workstations in a completely unattended way.
Today we continue to work together on all the improvements, including virtualization, consolidation, monitoring, backup, and staff training.
When they hired us they had 15 physical servers, and thanks to our advice it was possible to consolidate in only 3; with virtualization tasks and creating an environment with fault tolerance, optimizing energy, backup, security, and daily maintenance expenses.
